 Margaret Gill
margaret_gill3@yahoo.fr | About My Writing It was only when I began teaching part time that I returned to my love of writing and have since written seven children's novels and most recently a trilogy for teenagers. The second in the series 'Secret of the Scrolls,' won first prize at the Swanwick Writers' Conference and the Writers’News trophy for 2005. The third book in the trilogy 'Eye of the Mandala' was inspired by the discovery of a 7th century Tibetan manuscript while on an Arts Council sponsored course for writers and won an award at the Winchester Conference in June 2006 for children of 12 +.
I am still hopeful that I will eventually break through into mainstream publishing. I keep trying and have belonged to several online writing courses.
The current novel Narwhal was started in September 2006 and has just been published. It was shortlisted for the Cinnamon Press awards, UKAuthorsmost recent competition and also for the annual Adventures in Fiction award.
