Dwrob96@aol.com | About My Writing I've been writing since my teens but I was in my mid-30s before I began to sell my work, initially to local newspapers. Since then I have been extensively published mainly in small press magazines and on the web.
I'm primarily a novelist and humorist. I published my first two novels in 2002, but they sank without trace in a matter of months.
My third novel, The Haunting of Melmbery Manor, was published in May this year in the USA and I'm currently trying to interest British publishers and/or film makers.
I write mainly psycho-thrillers and supernatural mysteries, but I also turn out cynical 3rd Age humour. | Authors' Register: | About My Background 58 years young, I live on the edge of the moors outside Manchester (UK) with my wife and a crackpot Westie called Max, and I view the world with a cynical, curmudgeonly humorous eye.
A former trucker, former adult education teacher, and a trained hypnotist, I still hold down a full time job because Her Indoors tells me it's better than getting under her feet all day.
I have four children, all in their 30s, all still calling me "dad" even though there has never been a DNA test to prove it. I also have several grandchildren amongst whom, 13-year-old Victoria is my biggest fan.
I suffer from osteoarthritis, which has attacked my knees, but, stubborn old fool that I am, I refuse to give in to it and continue walking the dog while grumbling about crumbling joints.
I have a low threshold of boredom as a result of which I have a wide range of interests, including travel, the paranormal and DIY, an eclectic mix which I try to bring into my fiction. |
